Hillclimb Information

PLACE: The N.H. Hillclimb Challenge will be held at Pats Peak Ski Area in Henniker N.H. Pats Peak is hosting the race which is put on by the Weare Winter Wanderers Snowmobile Club. Spectators will face a challenge as well. It may be warm and sunny at your home but this is a mountain, dress warm. The Best location for viewing the snowmobile Hillclimb race is high on the race course, and it is steep!! Bring a small shovel to carve out a flat spot to stand. In the evening after all the racing and festivities, some spectators find it hard to stand up in the lodge! Some of the modified sleds racing up the mountain are very LOUD. Bring ear protection for children and yourself.

Event Purpose: The NH Hillclimb Challenge is a race organized by the Weare Winter Wanderers Snowmobile Club as a fundraiser. This race is hosted by Pats Peak Ski Resort in Henniker, NH. The Weare Winter Wanderers Snowmobile club is a NON-PROFIT club dedicated to the sport of snowmobiling. The club was established in 1970 and continues to have some of the original members involved even to this day. We encourage safety and the proper use of snowmobiles. We also work with local landowners, business owners, as well as town, state, and federal government officials to maintain the existing trails and develop new ones when an opportunity presents itself.

Profits generated from the 2012 NH Hillclimb Challenge will directly benefit our trail system through maintenance on the trails and to the existing equipment.

REFUNDS: Refunds of pre-registration money will be given only in the case of cancellation of the entire event by Pats Peak or the Weare Winter Wanderers. This is a rain or shine event.

DINING: Pats Peak will have their bar open for full service drinks. Also a large beer tent will be open trackside during the race for your pleasure. Cafeteria will be open for food. Sled Pub will be open for drinks. Cafeteria closes at 7 PM. Bar will be closed at 11 PM. Beer will also be served out on the deck. From 4 until 7 the cafeteria will have a limited menu.

AWARDS: In the pub after the Hill Climb race we will have an awards ceremony. We encourage all to stay after the event for dancing and bragging of the day’s racing accomplishments, or disasters.

EVENTS:

• Weare Winter Wanderers NH Hillclimb Challenge 8:00 - apx 4:00.

• Demo Snowmobile rides of NEW sleds by Arctic Cat, Polaris and Ski Doo on a Large groomed course..
• Vintage show. Bring out your old snowmobiles and show them off !!
• Tents by Local Dealers selling clothing and accessories.
• Dinner, dancing and awards ceremony following the race in main lodge.
• Vintage racing will start at 10:30.
• Drag racing will start after the hillClimb ends.
  
  

COSTS:

• Snowmobile Hillclimb Admission:  $12/person; 6 & under is free

• Vortex Chairlift Rides from 9am to half hour after last sled: $10/person

• Combo Ticket – Race Spectator & Chairlift Rides: $20/person (Save $2)

• Entry fees to the Hillclimb Race will be $25 per race class day of event. $20 per race class if you pre-register and pre-pay. The open class will run twice and cost $25 for pre-registration and $30 day of event. Snowmobile Hillclimb Racers will also have to purchase an event ticket of $12.

• Credit cards will be accepted

Times:

· Race Registration will open at 5:30 a.m.

· Race Registration closes at 9:00 Am SHARP !!!

· Cafeteria will be open for service from 7 AM till 7 PM.

· Cafeteria will have a limited menu 4-7 pm.

· Spectator Gates open at 7 a.m

· Vintage Show opens at 8 am.

· Demo rides open at 8 am.

· Chairlift opens for racers at 7:00 to look over course - Racer does not need a ticket

· Chairlift will stop accepting downhill riders ½ hr after last sled

· Chairlift opens at 9:00 am. to public

· Snowmobile Hillclimb Race will be from 8:00 (fan and vintage) the rest start at 10:30 till Apx 2:00

· Pub will be open 10 AM to 11 PM

· Award Ceremony will start 1/2 hour after last run

PARKING:Parking for the Hillclimb Race event is free and will be at the Pats Peak facility. Overflow parking will be at the Contoocook Artesian Well Co. parking lot, just ½ mile from the Peak. Shuttle buses will be provided for off site parking.

CAMPING:Camping for the Hillclimb race will be available in the parking lot of Contoocook Artesian Well. Camping will be 100% self contained. There will be no hook ups and dumping of any tanks will be prohibited. Camping for the Snowmobile Hillclimb race is Free.
