Racing Rules and Info

This is a timed Snowmobile Hillclimb racing event. Electronic timers at the start of the Hillclimb and at the finish line will determine the fastest run. There will be no side by side racing.
This Snowmobile Hillclimb Race is designed for the average recreational racer/rider. This year's course will be longer and more challenging. Bring your snowmobile and have some fun !!
The chairlift will open at 7:00 for racers only. This will allow you to ride up and look at the course. You may walk or ride down. Racer must be registered to race but does not need a ticket.

This will help speed things up on race day. If you think you might show up, please register now. Thanks. Refunds of pre-registration money will be given only in the case of cancellation of the entire event by Pats Peak or the Weare Winter Wanderers. This snowmobile hillclimb race is a rain or shine event.
No sleds deemed unsafe will be allowed to run the Snowmobile Hillclimb Race. This will be at the sole discretion of the race director. If you have questions, please email him. Questions to:
Snowmobiles do NOT need to be registered in the State of NH or any other state in order to race. The event is covered by a State of NH event permit. All sleds on the hill are covered by the permit.
A racer may enter any snowmobile Hillclimb race class only once. A sled may be entered into any one race class only once. A sled may be entered into a maximum of 2 race classes. Sleds can step up to any higher cc class including MOD. A sled may enter up to two different classes with different riders or the same rider. If a sled is entered into the OPEN race class, it may NOT be entered into any other class. The open class will run twice for one entry fee, with the same rider. The time will be a combined time.
All snowmobile hillclimb racers under 18 wishing to race MUST be with an adult. There is no age limit for the fan cooled race classes. Riders 12 and under are restricted to fan cooled race classes only. Riders 16 and under must ride a 600 Liquid cooled snowmobile or smaller.

This year there will be only one registration trailer - PLEASE Preregister. There will be a line at the registration trailer. If you did not preregister please be prepared to wait in line. For those of you who PreRegistered, You will have a racer's package all ready for you at the preregestered table under the tent. Simply sign a waiver and pick up your package.
All racing sleds will need to go through Snowmobile Hill Climb Race tech
Absolutely NO heating of Nitrous bottles with torches anywhere on premises. This includes inside trailers. If this rule is broken you will be asked to leave. Nitrous Bottles must be attached securely to your sled.
Even if you pre-registered for the race on-line, you must be onsite and sign a Hillclimb Race waiver before 9:00 am. If you miss the deadline, there will be no refunds, you will not race.
New this year: In an effort to get through the classes faster and give the crowd non stop action, Sleds will be sent up the hill at 30 second intervals, so be ready!! The timing equipment has been upgraded to allow for this. This will dramatically speed up the race.
Trailers may be dropped off on Friday up until 11:00pm. If you expect you might be later than 11:00 pm, please send a message to the race director on the contact us page or drop it at the Well company lot and move it in the morning. Do NOT unload sleds until Race Day.
A sled entering the Snowmobile Hillclimb with either an aftermarket pipe, or running race fuel will be considered a MOD sled. This will be at the discretion of the Hillclimb race director. Sleds with a stock Pipe and an aftermarket can, will be allowed to race in the stock classes. Sleds racing with performance enhancing fuel additives or pressurized fuel cells will run mod classes. (N2O) If you register as stock and get caught in tech after registering as stock, you may run, but your times will not count, you will be listed as a DQ.Entry fees to the Snowmobile Hillclimb race will be $25 per race class day of event. $20 per race class if you pre-register and pre-pay. The open class will run twice and cost $25 for pre-registration and $30 day of event. Snowmobile Hillclimb Racers will also have to purchase an event ticket for $12.

Racer requirements:
All Racers must have the following:
1. Dot approved helmet with eye protection.
2. Gloves
3. Boots
4. Full-length coat
5. Pants
6. Chest protector is recommended
7. Helmet must be worn if sled is moving - This includes loading and unloading
8. Tether must be attached to a person when sled is running (if sled has a tether)

Snowmobile race requirements
All race sleds must meet following requirements:
1) Full loop skis
2. Full snow flap
3. Working kill switch
4. Complete windshield, no broken ones
5. Operating brake
6. Overall safe condition
7. All Mod sleds must have an ISR Clutch guard
8. Tether must be attached to a person when sled is running (if sled has a tether)
